Paid Surveys Australia: 15 Best Survey Sites for Aussies 2024

This page contains compensated links. Read the disclosure for more info

When I was getting out of debt, taking Australian paid surveys was a key part of my extra income plan. I would take online surveys on the train home and earn extra money during my downtime.

There were loads of other things I did to boost income, but Australian online surveys were the easiest way to earn extra money.

The best paid survey sites in Australia are Octopus Group, Opinion World and Pureprofile. Other legitimate options include Toluna, Valued Opinions and MyView as well as some smaller niche companies like Livetribe and Rewardia.

I wanted to share with you my list of the best survey sites in Australia so you, too can earn extra cash or gift vouchers and have some fun at the same time.

15 Best Paid Online Surveys Australia 2024

When it comes to paid surveys, Australia has a plethora of options.

Here are some of the best survey sites that pay – Australia-wide.

1. Opinion World Australia

They are well-established and have a huge user base, reflecting their status as one of the best paid surveys Australia has to offer.

Backed by Survey Sampling International (a global market research firm), Opinion World Australia offers a wide range of surveys and excellent rewards.

Why we love them

You can redeem 500 points as a $10 cash reward with PayPal.

2. Octopus Group

Octopus Group claim to offer the highest payout in the industry making them one of the best survey sites Australia has to offer.

Their stated payout rate is $0.28/min, which equals $16.80 an hour – far higher than other market research groups.

Most surveys will earn you around $4-$8.

Their refer-a-friend program is top-notch. For every friend you refer, you’ll get $1 – but then, Octopus Group will continue to reward you with $1 for every survey your friend completes, up to a total of $20 per friend.

That’s far above the market average.

Why we like it

  • Great earning rate
  • Australian-owned and operated
  • AMAZING refer-a-friend program.

Rewards

Octopus Group pays by direct deposit into your bank account, or you can choose a discounted gift card (so a $20 gift card for $19) from Coles, iTunes, JB Hifi and more. You can read our full Octopus Group Review here.

8. Valued Opinions

Valued Opinions have long been rated as one of the best Aussie survey sites on Trustpilot, and for good reason.

They use a simple dollar system, so you know you’ll earn exactly $2 or $5 for a survey ($5 is their maximum payment per survey – mine tend to be around $4).

Valued Opinions ONLY pay out in gift vouchers, which might not suit you, but if you’re cool with that, they are worth a look.

Valued Opinions rewards are perfect for building a Christmas gift card stash.

In my experience, earning $20/month with them is possible – more if you try hard – which can add up to a healthy Christmas fund.

11. Nielsen Computer and Mobile Panel

The Nielsen Computer and Mobile Panel is not technically a survey site.

Whilst there might be the odd occasion where you’ll get paid to do surveys, most of the time, you’ll get paid for doing nothing.

Yep, you read that right. Free money, Australia!

Basically Nielsen need your assistance to help predict future internet trends and they do this by having people like you and me download a piece of software to their computer or an app to their mobile, so they can track how we use our devices.

It’s really that simple. You must keep the app installed for at least 14 days to earn.

12. YouGov

australian survey site YouGov is worth joining

You’ve probably heard YouGov mentioned in the media.

Because YouGov’s data is constantly featured across the media spectrum and shared on social media, your opinion could actually shape the news.

They’ll email you if that happens – nifty – huh?

Why we love it

The surveys they offer tend to be on important issues so you can make money while making a difference.

Rewards

• Cash by deposit to your PayPal account or Prepaid cards
• Gift cards to various merchants

If you want to get paid to do surveys, Australia offers Lifepoints as a legitimate survey site

MySurvey Australia is one of the top survey sites in the country and has a global presence.

Rewards

The Panel Station offers flexible redemption options, including Coles gift cards and cash via PayPal.

Once you have accumulated 3000 points, you can redeem them.

Note: Your reward can be delayed in being added to MyStation (their dashboard) as they don’t add the value until the survey has closed. This doesn’t always happen, but it can be the reason for a delay if you experience one.

A quick note below as I’ve noticed that many people are landing on this post when they are looking for Aussie Paid Surveys reviews.

Aussie Paid Surveys doesn’t offer surveys directly; they register you for multiple survey sites, just like the ones listed above.

At last check (April 2024) the options included YouGov, Opinion World, Toluna Influencers, Livetribe, Lifepoints, Myopinions, Your Opinion, Pureprofile, Rewardia and Valued Opinions.

If you’ve wondered is Aussie Paid Surveys legit, then the answer depends on what you are looking for.

You could just as easily sign up for the survey sites yourself and have one less email to deal with, but as far as I can see, it’s not a scam but a company getting paid to refer you to survey companies who then offer you surveys directly.

I recommend signing up directly with the Australian survey sites that best suit your requirements, including those listed above.

How to succeed with paid surveys

These quick tips will ensure you earn the maximum rewards for your survey efforts.

  1. Fill out your profile completely – a complete profile gets more survey offers.
  2. Be honest – most paid survey sites will ask you to repeat key information over and over again when qualifying for surveys. If you’re honest, this won’t be an issue.
  3. Be realistic – survey money is a sweet little extra you can earn from home. It is by no means a way to replace your regular income. If you want more ideas on how to build an online empire, check out this post on how to make money online.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) – Paid Surveys Australia

Which Paid Survey Sites Are Legitimate in Australia?

All the Australian paid survey sites listed in this article are legitimate.

There are many ways to check the legitimacy of an online survey site, including Trustpilot, checking social media pages for an official presence, and checking for contact details on the survey website.

Some Australian survey companies are listed as members on ResearchSociety.com.au, however, many legitimate survey sites (e.g. Swagbucks, Survey Junkie) are based overseas and, therefore not members.

Which Survey Sites Actually Pay You?

All of the survey sites listed pay. You must ensure you meet each site’s payment threshold before you can claim your rewards. We recommend cashing out your balance as soon as possible.

How Much Can You Make Doing Online Surveys?

You cannot replace a regular income with survey income. It’s a side hustle that will give you enough money to pay for gifts or incidentals. We think it’s realistic to earn $25-$50 per month doing online surveys a few times a week.

What Is The Highest Paying Survey Site?

Octopus Group claims to be the highest-paying survey site, and this may well be true.

They pay more per survey than other sites (up to $16 per hour); however, you may get more surveys from other companies. We find Pureprofile, Opinion World and MyView also pay well.

How To Get More Surveys?

There are two ways to get more surveys. First, ensure you have completed the profile questions as thoroughly as possible.

Taking the time to complete your profile as soon as you sign up to a new survey site is time well spent, it could mean more surveys get sent your way.

The second way to get more surveys is to do more surveys – seriously!

Once you get started and prove yourself as a worthy participant, the surveys will roll in.

Of course, this depends on your demographics, purchasing behaviour, and survey history—all of which are influenced by your profile.
