Despite their fairly ordinary jobs, Holly’s parents sent her to a private school – Burgess Hill Girls’ School in the Sussex town of the same name. This independent school educates females aged between 2 and 18.

She later went to Collyer’s School in nearby Horsham, which is now known as The College of Richard Collyer and is a sixth-form institution.

How did Holly Willoughby build her net worth?

Holly Willoughby has worked as a highly-paid presenter on many UK TV shows, notably This Morning, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Dancing on Ice, Celebrity Juice, and Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof.

In doing so she has worked with other big prime-time British TV and comedy names such as Phillip Schofield, Ant and Dec, Keith Lemon, and Lee Mack.

Holly Willoughby first started working in modeling in 1995 when she was just 14 years old, and as such has been earning money since then.

In 2000, Holly successfully auditioned for S Club TV, a show featuring actors representing the pop group of the same name. This led to her appearing on other kids’ TV shows such as CBBC at the Fame Academy.

After she started co-presenting the Saturday morning show Ministry of Mayhem with Stephen Mulhern, the name was changed to Holly and Stephen’s Saturday Showdown when their popularity as presenters increased.

Holly became a well-paid children’s TV presenter in the period between 2000 and 2005, before beginning work on Dancing on Ice in 2006.

Fast forward to three years later and she’d had stints on The Xtra Factor, Streetmate, and Celebrity Juice, and then started co-presenting This Morning with Phillip Schofield, another former children’s TV star.

In 2017 it came to light that Holly was earning less than her male co-star, so her £400,000 salary was bumped up to £600,000 in line with his.

In 2021, The Sun reported that Willoughby’s salary had increased to £730,000.

The Sun also claims that Holly was paid around £500,000 for presenting I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here alongside Dec Donnelly while standing in for Ant McPartlin in Australia.

She is also alleged to have been paid £150,000 for each series of Celebrity Juice she appeared in.

Apart from these generous TV salaries, Holly Willoughby has earned big money by working as a brand ambassador. Companies she’s represented include mega brands like Diet Coke, Oral B, Marks and Spencer, Garnier, Windows, and more.

The Diet Coke deal was said to be worth over £100,000, and the Oral B one was around £80,000.

Holly has also co-authored a series of books with her sister Kelly. The School for Stars series comprises 8 children’s titles.

She has also penned four other books, one of which was co-written with her best pal Fearne Cotton. The latest, Reflections, was published in 2021.

In early 2017, Hello magazine announced that Holly was setting up a design company with Peter Jones from Dragon’s Den. She was said to be overseeing operations at Truly Group Ltd in partnership with the dragon’s wife Tara.

She is no longer listed on the company website’s About Us page, however.

Another string to Holly’s bow is a lifestyle website called Wylde Moon. This has a boutique selling perfume, home fragrance, and jewelry, and publishes articles on a range of subjects including women, beauty, family, and kitchen.

There is also an associated podcast and content about the moon.

Holly Baldwin (her married name) is also listed as a director for Roxy Media Ltd, and this company is said to have brought in millions earned from her TV, writing, brand, public speaking, and website work.

What Can We Learn From Holly Willoughby?

While Holly Willoughby’s example shows us that luck can play a part in success, she has also demonstrated commitment to whatever she takes on and a willingness to try new things.

During her early days as a presenter, for example, she roped in a friend to create a showreel she could use in chasing more TV work.

She also passed the audition for S Club TV, her first TV break, seeing off other candidates in the process.

Holly Willoughby is dyslexic, which means that she is highly likely to experience difficulties in reading scripts or an autocue.

She certainly hasn’t let this setback hinder her progress in becoming one of British TV’s best-loved and highest-paid presenters.
