13 Ways to Earn Free Gift Cards in Australia
This post will show you how and where you can earn free gift cards Australia-wide so you can build a gift card stash to use in tough times or when you just need a special treat.
Whilst these are all legitimate ways to get free gift cards for Aussies, you will be required to expend some effort.
Nothing comes for free, unfortunately. But think, if you start now you could have a healthy stash by Christmas-time.
1. Answer surveys with Pureprofile
There are some awesome survey sites in Australia, and Pureprofile is one of my favourites for earning gift cards.
I can easily earn $20 a month in gift cards which adds up to a decent-sized slush fund for Christmas – and I could earn more if I put in more effort.
I like that the surveys offered are given a dollar value, so you know you’ll earn $2, $4 or sometimes even $5 per survey.
There’s no confusing points system. They also don’t charge you to cash out.
They send physical and e-gift cards so make sure you order them as soon as you qualify to allow time for them to arrive. (You can also receive cash via bank deposit).

2. Scan your groceries with IRi Shopper Panel [Earn $20 in 6 weeks]
The IRi Shopper Panel lets you earn free gift vouchers Australia wide with your phone.
You’ll use the app to scan the barcodes on all the products you purchase during a shopping trip.
You’ll need to record other information like where you shopped, how much you paid, how many you bought etc.
You then transmit the shopping data via Scan n Go app.
IRi guarantee that if you scan weekly, you’ll earn $20 credit within 6 weeks.
Redemption options include iChoose prepaid Visa or gift cards from Bunnings, Myer, Coles etc. Alternatively, you can select household items from a catalogue.

3. Sign up for focus groups
Focus groups or market research panels are also a great way to earn gift cards.
Usually, you are required to attend a session with other participants where you will share opinions and ideas on new products or advertising, policies etc. Sometimes researchers will attend your home to interview you.
Payment could be in cash or gift cards.

Nielsen Mobile and Computer Rewards Panel will reward you in gift cards or items selected from a catalogue in exchange for you downloading either a piece of software (computer) or installing an app (mobile) and keeping it installed.
The premise behind this is that Nielsen wants to track browsing behaviour and changes in internet use.
If you’re wondering how to get free gift cards online without completing offers, this has to be the easiest way. After installing, you do pretty much nothing but keep it installed, use your devices as normal and watch the gift cards roll in.

5. Join Airbnb
If you are new to Airbnb, using the link below will get you up to $90 credit towards your first trip.
Whilst this is technically not a gift card, it is an online discount and Airbnb is a great way to travel on a budget so I highly recommend signing up.
6. Switch your internet search engine to Swagbucks [$5 signup bonus]
Did you know you can earn points which can be redeemed for gift cards with Swagbucks?
There are a ton of other ways to earn Swagbucks including watching videos (usually ads), doing daily polls, answering surveys and more.

7. Do battles with Toluna
Toluna is one of my favourite Aussie survey sites because they offer a lot more than just surveys.
You can sign up for quizzes, do battles with your friends and of course, complete surveys.
Whilst Toluna offers an option to receive cash rewards with Paypal, they also have a huge range of gift cards for redemption.
8. Scan Your Beauty Purchases
The Nielsen Australian Personal Care and Beauty Panel will reward you with gift cards simply for scanning your personal care and beauty purchases. You can read more about the panel here.

9. Enter competitions
Would you believe there are people out there who win thousands of dollars in gift cards and other prizes each year?
They are called compers, basically, people who boost their income by entering competitions at an almost professional level.

10. Become a mystery shopper
Mystery shopping is a great way to get free gift cards.
Whilst you technically have to spend the gift cards in the store you have been assigned to, it’s still free!

I’ve already mentioned Valued Opinions and Toluna as great options for earning gift cards but there are loads more survey sites and apps in Australia where you can build a healthy stash of gift cards from your mobile phone.

BP Rewards allows you to save up points and cash them in for gift cards. It’s not a quick process but as fuel is pretty much an essential spending item for most families, you may as well make your petrol spend work a little harder.

13. Submit Your Receipts
ReceiptJar is an app available for download on both Apple and Android devices.
It allows you to submit receipts from your regular weekly shop and cash them in for gift cards.
While it can take a while to accumulate enough points to cash out a gift card, we’re pretty sure most Aussie families could get at least a $50 gift card each year from using this app.
